Habitat: Coquelle's Bakery, Orange, NJ
Anatomy: Skin: Bright green, all the way to the bottom. Soft and yeilding, dents to the touch without cracking. Bottom: Yellow cake, light and airy. Guts: Hot pink buttercream with a hint of marshmallow taste.
Important Details: Extinct today. One of the original ‘perfect’ childhood frogs – and the inspiration for FrogQuest AND FrogFest!
Macaroon Shop Frog
Name: Macaroon Shop's Frog
Habitat: The Macaroon Shop in Avon, NJ
Anatomy: Skin: Bright green, all the way to the bottom. Soft and yeilding, dents to the touch. Bottom: Yellow cake, light and airy. Guts: Hot pink buttercream, thick, rich, creamy and smooth.
Important Details: A consistent favorite with FrogFesters... Gold TopHat in 2008 and 2013 FrogFest!, Silver in FrogFest!2009 and 2010. An all year long Frog, not just available for St. Patty's.
Tolerant of costumes. Willing to dress up for Halloween and Easter.

Anatomy: Skin: Bright green, stops at cupcake, soft and yielding. Bottom: Yellow cupcake – exposed! Guts: White buttercream, rich & creamy, smooth, thick but not too heavy, sweet but not sugary.

LaBonboniere Frog
Name: La Bonboniere Frog
Habitat: La Bonboniere Bakery in Edison, NJ
Anatomy: Skin: Light green fondant, soft and yeilding – no cracking to the touch. Bottom: Very moist yellow cake. Guts: Light but rich and creamy buttercream… almost a hint of marshmallow
Important Details: Newcomer who stole the Gold Medalist spot in FrogFest 2009!
La Delice Frog
Name: La Delice Frog
Habitat: La Delice Bakery in New York City
Anatomy: Skin: Multicolor hard fondant… green, pink, purple, blue. All the way to the bottom. Bottom: Moist yellow cake. Guts: Heavy buttercream, sugary, strong almond flavor.
Important Details: An all-year-long Frog of Many Colors
Supreme Frog
Name: Supreme Frog
Habitat: Supreme Bakery in West Orange, NJ
Anatomy: Skin: Light green fondant, soft and yeilding, all the way to the bottom. Bottom: Yellow cake. Guts: Sugary buttercream, vague hint of almond?
Important Details: A Kosher Frog!
Mueller's Frog

Habitat: Mueller’s Bakery in Bay Head, NJ
Anatomy: Skin: Bright green fondant, soft, a bit sticky , all the way to the bottom. Bottom: Yellow cake. Guts: Sugary hot pink buttercream.
Important Details: Frog with the richest color... rich green and intense hot pink guts!
McMillan's Frog
Name: McMillan’s Frog
Habitat: McMillan’s Bakery in Collingswood, NJ
Anatomy: Skin: Deep green, all the way to the bottom. Thick soft fondant, dents to touch. Bottom: Moist yellow cake. Guts: Sugary, rich buttercream.
Important Details: Has cousins that appear during other seasons - Easter chicks, Halloween ghosts, a reindeer and snowman in December...
                  Also, we must give an honorary shout-out for McMillan's cream donuts and jelly donuts - amazing!
Lochel's Frog
Name: Lochel’s Frog
Habitat: Lochel’s Bakery in Hatboro, PA
Anatomy: Skin: Bright green, all the way to the bottom. Bottom: Moist yellow cake. Guts: Smallish pad of sugary, rich buttercream.
Important Details: Won the title of Cutest Frog in FrogFest 2009!
Bredenbeck's Frog
Name: Bredenbeck’s Frog
Habitat: Bredenbeck’s Bakery in the outskirts of Philadelphia, PA
Anatomy: Skin: Light green fondant all the way to the bottom, medium hardness. Bottom: Very moist cake base. Guts: White buttercream thick and heavy, sugary.
Important Details: Bronze Medalist in 2008 FrogFest! Also has a Chick cousin who shows up for Easter.
Sweeney's Frog
Name: Sweeney’s Frog
Habitat: Sweeney’s Bakery in Wilmington, DE
Anatomy: Skin: Medium green, all the way to the bottom. Sugary fondant, hard. Bottom: Moist yellow cake. Guts: Very sweet buttercream, stiff and sugary.
Important Details: Honorable Mention for Farthest Distance for FrogFest! 2009. Yes, we drove 3 hours one way!
Bake Zone Frog
Name: Bake Zone Frog
Habitat: Bake Zone in Mountainside, NJ
Anatomy: Skin: Bright medium green. Sweet, soft fondant, collapses into the buttercream. Bottom: Yellow cupcake. Guts: Smooth, buttery, not-too-sweet buttercream.
Important Details: Gold TopHat for FrogFest! 2010. Spotted this one calling out from the bakery window, while driving by. Best value frog - good size for under $2.
Hilltop Frog
Name: Jocelyn's (Hilltop Bakery) Frog
Habitat: Jocelyn's Kitchen (now known as Hilltop Bakery) in Nanuet, NY
Anatomy: Skin: Light green. Sweet and soft fondant. Bottom: Yellow cake. Guts: Sweet pink icing - and a touch of raspberry jam!
Important Details: Grabbed the Spirit-Ribbit award for FrogFest! 2010 - because this froggie was HOMEMADE! (since we tried this ourselves with disastrous results, we know just how impressive this is)
Mona Lisa Frog
Name: Mona Lisa Frog
Habitat: Mona Lisa Bakery in Brooklyn, NY
Anatomy: Skin: Bright medium green. Sweet and soft fondant, all the way to the bottom. Bottom: Yellow cake, airy, different than most others. Guts: White buttercream, smooth, creamy.
Important Details: In a strange twist of misunderstanding, 2 different frogs were created... one with a poured fondant skin (good) and one with a rolled fondant skin (don't do this!). The rolled fondant had a strange seam down the back, like a FrankensteinFrog... rolled fondant is definitely best left to wedding cakes! Poured fondant Froggie took the Green TopHat for FrogFest! 2010

Anatomy: Skin: Dark glossy green. Sweet and soft fondant, all the way to the bottom. Bottom: Yellow cake, moist. Guts: Pink buttercream, smooth, creamy.
Important Details: 1st place Gold TopHat winner in FrogFest! 2011 and 3rd place GreenTop Hat winner in FrogFest 2015. These frogs are not always in store for St.Patty's Day - but if you ask for a special order, you can ususally get them.

Habitat: House of Cupcakes Bakery in Princeton, NJ
Anatomy: Skin: Light green. Sweet, slightly hard fondant, all the way to the bottom of this super short frog. Bottom: Yellow cake, moist. Guts: Pink buttercream, sweet, sugary.
Important Details: Custom-bred frog, exclusively for FrogFest! 2011. Pint size, standing only half the height of the average frog, and super cute!
What's for Dessert Frog
Name: What's For Dessert Frog
Habitat: What's for Dessert Bakery in Spring Lake Heights, NJ
Anatomy: Skin: Bright green. Sweet, slightly hard fondant, very festive outfit. Bottom: Yellow cake, moist. Guts: Hot Pink sweet buttercream.
Important Details: New discovery in 2012. Likes to dress up festively for St. Pattys, with a fondant hat and bowtie. Metamorphosized from a bare bottomed from to all the way to the bottom. And comes in tadpole size too!

Anatomy: Skin: Bright green. Sweet, soft fondant, very stylish outfits! Bottom: Yellow cake, moist. Guts: Very creamy, just sweet enough pink buttercream.
Important Details: Genetically engineered for Frogfest! by For Sweet's Sake. Very snappy dressers. A consistent favorite. Winner of Gold TopHat in 2012 and 2015 and Silver TopHat in 2013 & 2014. Love them so much we had chicks commissioned for Easter!

Important Details: Huge frog! Of course he is, diner desserts are always supersized. Winner of Green TopHat at FrogFest! 2013 & 2014

Anatomy: Skin: Medium green fondant, soft. Even better the next day, slightly harder but still not hard. Bottom: Yellow cake. Very moist. Guts: Hot pink color, creamy and mildly sweet buttercream.
Important Details: Winner of the hot pink tophat for the new award - Most Authentic Frog honor... awarded to the frog most reminiscent of our childhood frog.

Anatomy: Skin: Light green fondant, soft, medium sweetness. Bottom: Yellow cake. Very moist. A petite frog, as Karen was limited because she was missing her big cupcake tins! Guts: Hot pink color, fluffy, light and mildly sweet buttercream.
Important Details: Just born in 2014, created by hobbyist bakers... and stealing the show at FrogFest, winning the Gold TopHat, and also voted cutest, favorite cake, fondant, and buttercream!

Important Details: Arrived on my doorstep in the mail, really, does it get any better than that?! Travelled all the way from the Midwest, in 2014 and 2015, specially commissioned from a bakery working only from a picture! (www.sassiecakes.com) Excellent travellers, they were fresh and in perfect shape...

Anatomy: Skin: Smooth fondant, sweet, not sticky, peels off like skin - reminded us of our childhood frog fondant. Bottom: Moist yellow cake with a dab of buttercream inside, nice surprise! Guts: Hot pink, sweet and fluffy buttercream. Buttercream pairs very well with the fondant.
Important Details: Very cute little frog. Voted favorite fondant for FrogFest 2015.

Anatomy: Skin: Thin fondant, crumbled nicely into the buttercream. Bottom: Moist yellow cake Guts: Pink fluffy buttercream with raspberry flavor... not traditional, but really yummy!
Important Details: Incredibly cooperative baker who had never seen frogs before and crafted her first born from pictures and descriptions and internet research. She even created another batch to sell in her shop, and apparently they sold out! The birth of a new frog habitat...

Anatomy: Skin: Bright green, all the way to the bottom. Bottom: Yellow cake; nice cake to buttercream ratio (50/50). Guts: White buttercream, thick, sugary and creamy.
Important Details: On request, we obtained a Chocolate Frog cousin! Same insides, with a chocolate fondant skin.

Anatomy: Skin: Sweet fondant, a little lumpy but still tasty. Bottom: Yellow cake Guts: Dark pink buttercream, fluffy and airy, almost mousse-like texture. Hint of vanilla.
Important Details: The home kitchen presents some interesting challenges putting skin on a buttercream frog body...
Little Bake Shop of Horrors Frog

Anatomy: Skin: Sweet fondant, very lumpy, but still tasty. Bottom: Yellow cake Guts: Light pink italian buttercream. Creamy and buttery, with a touch of sweet but no sugary texture. Combined very well with the sweet fondant.
Important Details: Really, really ugly frogs (I can say this since I made them). Looks clearly aren't everything (apparently buttercream is) - because these little horrors (some had only one eye, and drooped over by the end of FrogFest) took 2nd place in FrogFest 2015! Pouring hot fondant over cold buttercream is not as diffcult as it sounds, its even more difficult! But these melty ugly froggies were indeed very tasty.
Cafe Roma Frog
